Classic Aiden

Aiden often asks me to draw things for him, and since I have no artistic ability at all, the results are always interesting. This morning's theme was numbers. Some people might think that you don't need art skills to draw numbers, but they would be wrong.

First, Aiden tells me which number I should draw. Then he calmly tells me that the number needs eyes, mouth, and feet. (Thank you Math Circus!) This morning, I was asked to draw 1, 2, 5, 3, 0, and 4 (in that order). I thought the results were pretty good.

Then he threw in a new hitch; each number needed arms! After drawing arms on all the numbers, he told me that each number needed a baby. With a little more questioning, be told me that the 2 needed a baby 2, the 1 needed a baby 1, etc.

This explains why I never seem to get anything done around the house!

Cabin Fever

Okay... so I hate being cold and those who know me also know that I consider anything below 73 F to be cold. So this means that Aiden hasn't really been outside to play since October. Last week, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

First, he gathered all the couch cushions to make a nice safe cushion pit. He also needed all the step stools to help safely reach the couch. It was about here that he says to me, "I be careful, Mommy." This was very reassuring. :-)

Rolling down the pillow mountain was fun, but he sensed that there should be more to this. At this point, the leaping began.

First, we leap with blankie. That was fun, but blankie tends to entagle upon landing.

Let's try it solo a few times. Much better!

Christmas

Here are some of our family pictures from this Christmas. A great big "Thank You" to our family friend, Gene, for coming up to my parents' house on his day off work and taking them for us. These are all taken in front of my parents' Christmas tree.

Here we all are. Finally there are pictures of Joe and myself on our blog!

Here are my favorites of Aiden. I think he looks so grown now!

And here is the best pic of Joe and me. We're not as cute as Aiden.
